The towns and its Calanques
The city of Cassis is located about 24 kilometers from the Phocaean city. With a fairly similar landscape and way of life, Cassis nevertheless stands out with a few specificities.
The calanque of Port-Miou is a marvel, even bigger than the other two in the city and even than those of Marseille. Its twisted appearance gives it an originality that does not fail to arouse the admiration of visitors. This is the first place to visit in Cassis, since it is located just at the entrance of the city.
For the greediest, the Cassis market at Place Baragnon, not far from the city’s port, will do you the greatest good. It is held every Wednesday of the week, and it sells a range of culinary specialties from the region.
Finally, Cap Canaille (highest cliff in France), which culminates at almost 400 meters in height, will attract adventurers and a spectacular view of the creeks of Marseille.
